I have planned for sometime to return to the field (bucket list) before I go the way of the many. when I do, I would love to do so with friends and with guides to point out land marks where various points of the battle occurred.
Would it not be nice if members of this forum got together, made plans, and agreed to go together. it would be at least two years for me. 2014 could be a beacon of light to guide us toward the ultimate experience. what do you all say?
Please forward all suggestions here, let's mull over them, and make them plans! ;D

I agree! To visit the battle field with friends would be absolutely wonderful and we could all learn so much. I think that the group could contribute to a fund where a professional guide could meet us there and point out the important land marks.
I have heard of the Real bird family who may be a good contact for us. Can anyone advise?

Hello everyone, you have a great idea. I am lucky enough to have made the crows nest ride all the way to the LBH. It was along ride and when we arrived we participated in the re-enactment. We filmed the History Channel Special. We had 50 troopers in the saddle. It provides a new perspective on that fatefull day.

If anyone would like to watch or go to the real-bird re-enactment I can help you. It is the most authentic and something you should see and experience.

Which History channel special and how long did it take you to ride down Reno Creek and at what gait? Thanks. bc

It was in 1997 The title was Betrayal at the Little Big Horn. We left at 03:00 and we were at the walk, trot and canter. They had us moving for the filming..I belive we ended up at the Real Bird re=enactment about 13:00
