There are a few references to a horse of Victory's (Vic) description. They all, however, state that the horse had four white feet and was a blaze Sorrel.
Here's what Private John Burkman had to say:
It was a lie-a dammed lie-that Vic, the horse Custer rode in the last charge, had four white feet. That mare 9gelding) had three white-stocking legs. Shouldn't i know,Bud, considering how I have curried and trimmed her fetlocks and polished her hoofs time and time again?"
