The squaw in the center is holding Custer's watch up to her ear. This would be looking ssw.

It's fascinating. And that Indian holding that bugle up, its so realistic. What I also wondered about. Was when they excavated they found an amputated finger with the ring still on it. The indians told of this occurring to Custer, when a warrior, I forget which one, tried to get the ring off, and instead just cut the finger off to get it. When they excavated that amputated finger with the ring intact, I always wondered if that was Custer's ring.

Thanks Joe. I wish I can remember more about the artist, but I was pretty young when Ma knew him. She's getting on, and her memory is pretty spotty at best.

"I like Paxton's, got it over my fireplace." This is a pic of my fireplace at the cabin with the Paxson print.

Excuse the mess. Thanks, one of these days I'll have a trapdoor instead of a Hawkins hanging on the mantle.

Yeah well, kind of Melani. I don't know if Custer could have used the chainmail coif, an anti-scalping device prehaps? I'm sure he would have found some use for the hand grenade.

McIntosh's ring and finger in the Reno area. www.arlingtoncemetery.net/donaldmc.htmI did read here that Custer's right little finger was removed to get his West Point Class ring. Be advised, some what graphic discription from General Terry. forum.treasurenet.com/index.php?topic=144337.5;wap2

Tarnations!!!!
Was Custer hit above or below the heart? Really? Some one corrected me to saying it was up by the shoulder and now I'm reading Terry say it was below the heart, which is it?! I drew it up by the shoulder in my drawing of the battle.
