I've read some of Custer's writings and I found his style to be interesting and readable. Maybe I am seeing a little too much in his efforts but. I see sincerity and honesty in his efforts.

Well, to help know a person, look how they express themselves with the written word.

You know, Libby did not do so bad either. She wrote 3 or 4 books herself if I am not wrong.

Strange I understand. I too hold Mrs. Custer in the highest esteem. What a beautiful woman, without and within!

What is remarkable is the incredible love she felt for her husband. A love that continued for so very long after his death. Despite the allegations that say he could be temperamental and petty toward others, she brought out the best in him.

I recently read a book about Libbie's life after Custer. What a remarkable woman. Her existence proved that no force upon this earth can exceed love.

A like of people seem to think that Custer was a little bit of a jerk. Maybe so. Anyway, to make a woman love you for over a half a century after you died is pretty amazing to me. It makes me believe that maybe he had a little on the ball after all.

Love is not defined by time. Once it happens it goes on forever unless destroyed by carelessness.

I like that Stumblingbear. A very thoughfful thing to say. I've often thought of making a thread for a Thought for The Day or some such thing. Anyone like the idea?
