Hello, Just joined... Interested in Custer of course, particularly his escort of the North Pacific Railroad Expedition. My great grandfather, Jack Waldron, was on the surveying expedition. Also Isaiah Dorman, the Army interpreter and guide, was also there. My other great grandfather was in the Army at Fort Abraham Lincoln, Dakota Territory, the same time as Custer. Isaiah Dorman was at Standing Rock Indian Agency in the early years--also an interest, and his family the Blackhawk family. I'm looking forward to learning from this forum! --winona

Hello I just joined your group and got ahead of myself before I introduced myself. I have always had a great interest in the Cavalry Wars, especially Custer. Today I was in a Federal Cemetery in Wilmington NC, when I came across an Officers Grave which was marked 7 US Cavalry. So when I came home I started researching his name and it lead me to this site. I posted a comment prior to introducing myself. Anyway I do Civil War Reenacting and love history. Thanks Del

I've had heart problems lately so I've not been around as much as I'd like to be. Hopefully Joe or Sir Strange or one of the other regulars here will drop by and help out. By the way what was the 7th cav. officers name and, if you remember, what were the dates on his stone?
