I would like to begin a new thread in which ten (10) posts are to be nominated to be accorded the possibility of chosen as the best article of 2012!
There have been many posts on this forum that have stirred the imagination, funny bone, and caused to reflect upon the what "ifs" of the world.
Please submit your choices by PM at your convenience. While there are many wonderful posts, thus far, you may wish to consider future, unwritten posts to come for this honor. A panel of three will make the final choice of the ten selections. Anyone interested in becoming a panel member please contact me.
My pick is the extraordinary article by Strange, Aug. 16, regarding the fate of the "Titanic" and "Custer's death."
Let us give thanks, in a personal way, to our special forum membership!

There have been so many great posts so far that choosing will be difficult. How far back can we reach and when is the deadline for the selection?

;You may go as far back as the beginning of the forum. the dead line will be Dec. 31, 2012! We have until January 30Th. for the final selection! All categories are eligible.

I'll get back on this. I'll have to pour over a lot of posts.
The best thread that sticks out in my mind is Cutter's "humour", but its not history related, and I don't know if a thread qualifies as an "article".
I'll be back.

All who wish to be consider for this recognition, please contact TBW or myself. All posts are to be considered regardless of length. what we are looking for is an opportunity to recognize a thread that, in some way or fashion, touched out hearts.
Authorization of participation is based upon a private submission (via PM) of the participants. A substantial prize will be given to the winner at the conclusion of the contest. We have some of the most talented and worthy forum membership to date and we wish to publicly acknowledge this fact. Please post questions on this board reference guidelines. ;D

I think this recognition of our membership is a great idea. There have been so many wonderful contributions from people who are so special that a special recognition is just the ticket. I would like to say thank you to tbw for your kindness!

Thank you Stumblingbear for your kind words! I will not spoil the surprise by hinting as to what the "prize" will be but, I and twb earnestly believe it will be a pleasant one!
What we need is for every member to enthusiastically submit their selections so that a special recognition for our membership may be recognized.
A special forum can only be so when supported by "special" members who care about seeing that the "message" is thrust out for all to see and review. To represent the acknowledgment that this battle represents a special time in history and that every participant in this battle, white and red, fought for what they believed in is paramount to our mutual understanding of the "why" this battle was fought and a recognition of the "why" each and every member of this forum are special individuals!
A toast ladies and Gentlemen to the fantastic membership of a fantastic board!!!

Update: Nominations!
Thus far we have three nominations. (To be revealed at a later date.) With such a contingency of membership I would like to see a few more nominations come forth prior to a final selection. So come on you guysand gals, read these wonderful posts and let's pick a few more candidates so that we may choose a winner! ;D

Just a belated up-date to our contest. We were unable to achieve the selection of ten candidates due to a lack of responses. I hereby select "Strange" for his moving article on the "fate of the Titanic."
Mr. Strange please contact the administrator VIA pm regarding your $25.00 certificate and congratulations. Again, forgive our tardiness in arriving TO this momentous selection. Thank you!
