Hi, guys--you both already know me from the other two proboards. I'm always up for a new conversation, so we'll see what develops here. Happy Holidays!

Welcome boynamedsioux. I noticed that you have not "activated" your account. I have provided instructions on how to complete that activation in the "Rules And Membership" category - in the Membership thread.
I look forward to your insight and post.

Hey all, My name is Cutter and live in the deep south. I was raised in Billings and as a kid visited the Battle field many times. On my "bucket list" is to visit again as an adult. I am slow in offering messages for two reasons. 1) I am humbled by the caliber of knowledge expressed her and on other boards. 2) I have dyslexia, and it takes me forever to read or write anything of value. Other then that, all's good. I look forward to the future of this site Cutter

Cutter,
How long did you live in Billings? With the battlefield so near you must have visited it many times, perhaps enough to qualify you as our resident expert on matters others could only guess at. Very glad to have you aboard.

Welcome, Cutter! Don't worry about "expertise"--we're all just guessing anyway!

Hey Dennis, I left Billings back in '63, and from what I see from google maps et al, much has changed. I did live on the same block as the Crow indian agency office was. I remember Crow indians waiting at the bus stop in front of our house, dressed in braids, moccasines, blankets, the whole smear. This was almost 50 years ago. My mother knew J.K. Ralston, and have a sighned postcard of his painting "after the battle." Of course, if there's anything I can help with, and my memory works, I'm more then happy to ablige.

Well now there's a "WOW" moment for me!!! Excellent! Anything you'd like to share here of your experience while there would be of great interest for all. I know I for one wouldn't mind one bit! And your knowledge of the area in the discussion will help tremendously. I for one intend to ask you a lot of questions about terrain and perhaps this in accord with lines of sight. I have been there of course, but its nothing like having lived there. Memories aside, what you can remember will always be cherished. And what you can't remember can and will always be forgiven. Dennis

I think it would be fantastic if i could live in Billings for one year! I would walk that battlefield until my shoes wore off!

I remember when my grandmother would visit us from N.Y.C. she would be more then uneasy looking out our front door and see the Crows waiting for the bus. She said "my God, this is the wild west!" LOL.

Wonderful story. ;D Can you imagine what the Crows, waiting for the bus, would have said when they arrived at N.Y.C.
